- The chips are diffused on the PCB board and they produce a wider light that extends over a larger area. it means the heat sink requires less material, saving costs.
- The SMD downlight is covered with a frosted diffuser, the LED chips are hided, the light evenly diffused.
- The face is usually larger.
SMDs are more efficient than COBs because the light sources produce more lumens per watt, which means they produce more light at a lower wattage.
